This important sector for East Sussex consists of hospitality and destination services, passenger transport and travel, and retail (not including motor retail). This includes visitor attractions; hotels and B&Bs; museums, galleries and zoos; restaurants, cafés and bars; and the manufacture and wholesale of food and drink.

The Visitor Economy includes jobs in

‘Destinations’ – nature tourism, coast, heritage, sport, leisure, travel

‘Hospitality’ – food and drink, wine, hotels, high streets

‘Culture’ – Arts venues, night-time economy, events
