A £2 billion fund will offer paid, quality 6-month work placements for over 200,000 young people aged 16-24 who are on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. The government covers the national minimum wage of each placement for 25 hours a week.
If you’re creating fewer than 30 job placements, a Kickstart gateway can act on your behalf and apply for a Kickstart Scheme grant for you.
The government will pay a £300 administration fee with each placement to Kickstart Gateway organisations who manage applications on behalf of smaller businesses.
Employers receive £1500 per placement to provide training and essential kit to the Kickstart employee.
