How to recruit an Apprentice

There are plenty of aspects to consider when recruiting an apprentice, such as:

  • What is your staffing budget?
  • What role do you have to fill, or can create?
  • Can you commit to enabling the apprentice to meet the 'Off-the-job' training requirement of 20% of their time?
  • Will they be supervised and working in a safe environment?

To help answer these questions, here are some useful links that you can look into.

Recruiting an Apprentice

There are two methods of recruiting an apprentice. You can link with a training provider who will be able to advertise and recruit for your apprenticeship role vacancy as a free service. Alternatively if you have an existing staff member, or somebody who you would like to take on as an apprentice, you can contact the training provider to set up the apprenticeship for your identified recruit. You are free to explore as many training provider options as you wish before making your decision as to who to recruit and train an apprentice through.
