Overview
Chemists have greatly improved the quality of life for the majority of people.
This A Level course is intended to provide a solid platform for a variety of possible careers.
These include careers in health and clinical professions, such as medicine, nursing, biochemistry, dentistry or forensic science.
It will also equip you for a career in industry, for example in the petrochemical or pharmaceutical industries.

Details
The course is divided into topics, each covering different key concepts of chemistry.
The teaching of practical skills is integrated with theoretical topics and they are assessed through written papers and a Practical Endorsement.
How will it be delivered?
Three written papers:
Periodic table, elements and physical chemistry
100 marks, 2 hours 15 minutes(37%)
Synthesis and analytical techniques
100 marks, 2 hours 15 minutes (37%)
Unified chemistry
70 marks, 1 hour 30 minutes (26%)
Practical endorsement in Chemistry,
Non exam assessment (reported separately)
Entry requirements
Grades 66 in Combined Science or grades 666 in separate Sciences and grade 6 in GCSE Maths.
