Overview

Students will enjoy a variety of stimulating activities designed to allow them to study the world of drama and theatre.

They will have opportunity to gain the knowledge to be a performer, a designer and an active audience member.

Students will be expected to participate in live performances and to come to rehearsals outside if timetabled lesson. 

Exam Board - Edexcel

Details

Mixture of text work and devising work with options for performance or design.

Written exam on Theatre Makers

Students will be expected to attend theatre trips termly organised by the department costing between £5 and £35

How will it be delivered?

Component 1: devising (40% of the qualification ) internally assessed and externally moderated

Component 2: text in Performance (20% of the qualification) externally assessed by a visiting examiner (group performance and monologue or dialogue /design realisation)

Entry requirements

5 9-5 GCSEs or equivalent with a minimum of grade 6 in English Literature.
