You will be able to combine the academic with the creative during this course. You will learn about a wide range of films from the mainstream, La La Land, to the more challenging, Trainspotting. Films from all eras are explored including the Golden Age of Hollywood. Along with the analysis of films you will also have the opportunity to learn about screenwriting and produce a short film. You will learn about: * File text and context (sociological, economic, and technological) * Global cinema and critical perspectives * Cinema in context (1895-1915, World War II, blockbusters, and 2000-present) * Creative investigation in film
