During the course you will explore the concepts of culture and socialisation and how gender, ethnicity and religion may or may not affect what opportunities you have in life. You will understand how social structures and identities work, and will develop the skills and evidence you need to challenge the label that other individuals, groups or organisations may have given you.
You will be introduced to the theories, methods and methodologies necessary to analyse the following topics:
* Culture and socialisation
* Methods and methodology
* Youth culture and subculture
* Crime, deviance, victimisation
* Social stratification
* Measurement of inequality
How will it be delivered?
Your progress will be regularly assessed by tests and coursework, with regular feedback and guidance being offered for constant improvement.
