On this course you will develop skills in basic double entry bookkeeping and accounting, computerised accounting systems, basic costing techniques, and an understanding of the accounting function within an organisation.
How will it be delivered?
The following units will be assessed as a computer based assessment (you will be marked as competent on not competent):
1. Bookkeeping Transactions
2. Bookkeeping Controls
3. Elements of Costing
4. Working Effectively in Finance
5. Introduction to Payroll
6. Introduction to Business & Company Law
7. Using Accounting Software
You must achieve at least four GCSEs at D/3 or above in different subjects including English and/or maths, or an equivalent Level 1 vocational qualification.

Successful completion of this qualification can lead on to:
The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting Level 3 followed by the AAT professional Diploma in Accounting Level 4, each of which can take 1 year to complete. This will allow you to become a fully qualified accounting technician and use the letters MAAT after your name.
