This is an innovative, new industry-focussed course for those who have creative ability, an interest in developing and researching make-up design ideas and who wish to pursue a career as a professional make-up artist. It covers all aspects of make-up techniques to provide access to film,television, stage, photography and other media. On this course you will explore and develop skills in media make-up, camouflage make-up, fashion and photographic makeup, applying prosthetic pieces, applying air-brush make-up to the face and designing and applying face and body paint. You will need to be prepared to work in and out of class to build a portfolio of your work.
How will it be delivered?
Assignments, projects, written and observed practical work. You will be required to produce a portfolio of practical examples and reference material.
You must achieve at least five GCSEs grade A*/9 - C/4 in four different subjects, including English Language and/or maths, or an equivalent Level 2 vocational qualification.

This course can provide a pathway to employment in a related industry such as fashion, TV, film, print media, retail or as a freelance make-up artist. Alternatively it could lead to Higher Education.
