Overview

This full time study programme is designed to teach students a high degree of skill in the fields of animation and illustration. The focus of the course will be about narrative and the development of characters and stories that can be told through traditional 2D animation and also through printed genre�s such as Graphic Novels and Manga. Students will look at how characters are created and developed for use in animation, graphic novels and comics. They will create a new character with a profile, and develop it through drawings into final professional outcome. Students will explore how different types of animation are produced. They will generate a story, placing a character(s) they have created in an environment and producing a short animated film.

How will it be delivered?

100% centre assessed including practical and wider project-based assessment opportunities with external visiting moderation of the grades awarded. There are no exams associated with this course.

Entry requirements

You must achieve at least five GCSEs grade A*/9 - C/4 in four different subjects, including English Language and/or maths, or an equivalent Level 2 vocational qualification.
