Arts, Media and Publishing
What will you be working towards?
||Other Regulated/Accredited Qualification
The level 2 Diploma is designed to provide students with an interest in art and design an opportunity to explore some of the materials, methods and processes of many art and design activities. The qualification will also help students begin to develop related technical skills and build a portfolio of art and design work. Learning will be through practical activities and projects.
How will it be delivered?
Assessment throughout the course will be formative to support and encourage learning and provide an opportunity for feedback. Only the final unit will be graded to allow students the best opportunity to achieve. The final units require students to research, organize, plan, produce and present a personal project.
Students successfully completing the first two units of the course will receive the Level 2 Award. Students successfully completing all 9 units of the course will receive the Level 2 Diploma. The final unit of the qualification can be achieved at either level 2 or level 3, and can be awarded as a pass, merit or distinction.
The Diploma is a full Level 2 qualification and is broadly equivalent to 4 x GCSE at grade C or a BTEC First Diploma.
You must achieve at least four GCSEs at D/3 or above in different subjects including English and/or maths, or an equivalent Level 1 vocational qualification.
