Overview

The Digital Production T-Level will develop your knowledge and understanding in a range of core elements that will underpin your learning in this industry. You will be given a context to the industry, learn the key concepts and theories in digital production, design, and development, and develop the skills you need to do the job. You will then have the opportunity to learn more in-depth knowledge and skills within the subject to help specialise in a number of areas including troubleshooting, how to design, implement and test software, and how to change, maintain and support software. You will undertake your industry placement and be given an employer-set project to work on which requires you to demonstrate your learning by combining your core knowledge and skills to develop a substantial piece of work in response to an employer-set brief. Your English, maths, and digital skills will also be enhanced throughout the two years. Core elements you will learn include: Business Context - You�ll be able to understand and learn the value of Digital to businesses, understand technical changes to digital systems and these may affect a business, and understand the risks including privacy, non-compliance, and security. Data - You will learn about the concepts and fundamentals of data such as search, store, integrate and organise, data formats and their importance for analysis, and how to manage and access data across different platforms. Digital Analysis - You�ll gain an understanding of Algorithms and how they can solve problems, you�ll learn Abstraction so that you can filter details, and understanding Pattern recognition to look for similarities within problems. Digital Environments - You will learn more about computing systems including physical, virtual and cloud, you will understand the landscape of network connectivity, and understand concepts such as SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (platform as a service) and IaaS (infrastructure as a Service). Security - You will learn about the importance of maintaining privacy and confidentiality, understand processes and protocols used to ensure internet security, and gain an understanding of threats and vulnerabilities such as Botnets, Hacking, Malware, Phishing, and Spam.
