What will you be working towards?

On this course you will study approximately 16 units over the year; these will include Support physical care routines for children; Supporting children�s play; Support the needs of the child in preparing for school; Supporting children�s development; Engage in professional development and Support creative play. You will also undertake a minimum of 250 placement hours.
How will it be delivered?
This is a one year course and will be taken alongside other subjects at college. All work is internally assessed using a range of methods. This may include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by CACHE.
You must achieve at least four GCSEs at D/3 or above in different subjects including English and maths at least grade C/4, or an equivalent Level 1 vocational qualification. You will also need a clear DBS check.
Your next steps...
On successful completion of the course, students can progress on to a Level 3 course at college (AS Health & Social Care) or go out into the workplace as an apprentice to study for the Level 3 Early Years Educator, although you will need C grades in Maths & English to do this.
