Overview

Animal Management is a rapidly developing sector with many different career paths and opportunities for those wanting to work with animals. 

Details

There are 5 units covered:

Animal welfare and ethics

Practical animal husbandry

Animal behaviour

Animal health and disease

Work experience in the animal sector


How will it be delivered?

There is an exam to assess the unit on animal welfare, based upon 3 hours of research on a scenario set by the exam board. The remaining units are assessed via internal assignments.

Entry requirements

At least 4-5 GCSEs graded 9-4. A grade 4 in Science and English is required. Relevant experience such as working with or having animals is helpful.

This qualification offers an engaging programme for those wishing to pursue a career in an animal-related industry, or wanting access to a range of Higher Education courses in Zoology, Animal Behaviour, Welfare and Conservation. It will also provide valuable experience for those wanting to do an apprenticeship or gain employment in the animal sector such as animal charities, pet shops and kennels.
