This course is designed to build on and extend core fine art skills acquired at GCSE, alongside developing your creativity, expression, imagination, critical and contextual understanding.
Year 1 - The emphasis of the first year is underpinned by core fine art skills. This is extended through experimentation and exploration of a broad range of materials, techniques and processes. You will be required to engage with the works of artists and designers which encourages a written critical response, and enables you to analyse the way you work to inform and develop your personal work into an extended exploratory portfolio.
Year 2 - The emphasis of this year will be on developing and extending existing creative skills. You will be encouraged to develop a more independent approach to the subject demonstrating continued critical understanding, supported by integrated written engagement with the works of artists and designers to inform and develop work which has a personal significance into a major in-depth, practical and theoretical investigation.
