Cambridge Technicals in IT is designed for students who want to work in IT. The written examinations assess students on IT theory and the impact of IT on our global world.
The coursework based units allow students to research and develop working solutions. Students learn real life IT skills that can be used in the working world.
The course consists of five units. Two of the units are studied in Year 12 and are examined in the January and June of Year 12. In Year 13, students study the final three units of the course. These are coursework units which are marked internally and externally moderated.

How does this course link to other subjects?
This qualification fits in ideally with Computer Science and Business Studies as they share transferable skills, however, it will work with all other subjects.

Many students who complete this course go on to work in IT.
The skills learnt are transferable to the workplace and the fast developing IT industry in Eastbourne. Potential careers include network support, application and web developer.
