Overview

This is a course for anyone interested in what happens behind the scenes to get a show up and running. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our Performing Arts students on productions. Lighting and sound will be key disciplines explored throughout the qualification.                   

Details

Opportunities for assisting performances throughout the course include public performances in college. You will develop practical skills and gain a wider understanding of the performing arts industry. You will focus on types of lighting and using the lighting desk. You will also learn to record with microphones, use a live mixing desk and do sound for a performance. 

How will it be delivered?

This is a two year course which is based on continuous assessment rather than formal examinations.

Entry requirements

At least 4-5 GCSEs graded 9-4 or A*-C including English at grade C/4 or above. You should have an interest in theatre and ideally experience of being involved in performances.
