Overview
During this one-year course you will develop your existing knowledge and learn more advanced techniques and principles of painting and decorating. You will learn some more advance painting techniques such as how to paint in complex areas with brushes and rollers
How will it be delivered?
Assessments will take place throughout the duration of the course. Practical tasks will make up 60% of the assessment, coursework will make up 30% and 10% will be made up of exams. Accuracy and completing tasks within a specified time frame will be important to the successful completion of the course. Constructive feedback from your tutor will also help you to improve and progress towards recognised industrial standards
Entry requirements
You must achieve at least four GCSEs at D/3 or above in different subjects including English and/or maths, or an equivalent Level 1 vocational qualification.

On completion of the course you can progress onto a Painting and Decorating Apprenticeship or our Level 3 Painting and Decorating.
You may wish to start your career in the industry and could find roles as an Industrial Painter, Specialist Paperhanger or go into Property Maintenance
