Overview

During this course you will learn a range of advanced techniques that will help to prepare you for a career in the industry. During this advanced course you will fine tune your skills in our purpose built workshop and become adept at all aspects of painting and decorating. You will be able to applying hangings to walls and ceilings and apply a range of decorative finishes to your work. You will also learn how to you advance equipment such as high volume low pressure spray equipment. There will also be an opportunity to improve your employability skills during work experience placements before you head off and start your career in the industry.

How will it be delivered?

Assessments will take place throughout the duration of the course. Practical tasks will make up 60% of the assessment, coursework will make up 10% and 30% will be made up of exams. Accuracy and completing tasks within a specified time frame will be important to the successful completion of the course. Constructive feedback from your tutor will also help you to improve and progress towards recognised industrial standards.

Entry requirements

You must achieve at least five GCSEs grade A*/9 - C/4 in four different subjects, including English Language and/or maths, or an equivalent Level 2 vocational qualification.
