This one year course is designed to teach you the fundamental skills to become a make-up artist.
You will learn techniques including make-up application, body art, hair styling and period looks. You will be required to research and develop ideas including mood boards. During this course you will take part in specialist workshops with Kryolan make-up trainers and will participate in work experience in local theaters.
How will it be delivered?
You will be assessed throughout the year by ongoing observations. You will also have two exams and a graded synoptic assessment which will be held at the college but set up by an external examining body.
4 GCSEs grade A*/9 - D/3 including English and maths.
Your next steps...
Once you have successfully completed this course you will be ready to develop your knowledge and skills further by completing a specialist qualification at Level 3 in Theatrical or Media Make-up.
You will also be eligible to become a member of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) or Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
You may also be ready to start your career in the industry in a variety of roles including, Theatre, film, print media, photographic studios, beauty salons, or on a self-employed basis.
