Overview
On this BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Public Services course you will study a wide range of subjects, which will prepare you with the necessary knowledge and skills to enter a uniformed public service. You will study at least 9 modules during the course including Politics; Leadership; Psychology; Citizenship; Physical Training and Outdoor Activities; Criminology and Emergency Incidents. The units provide background knowledge and understanding of the public services. During the course you will be required to participate in visits to workplaces, and residentials and expedition training, which involve overnight stays. There is also the opportunity for a lot of trips and visits to gain first hand experience
How will it be delivered?
The course is continually assessed by a variety of methods which include written assignments and reports, practicals, simulations, role plays, presentations and posters. There are no formal examinations associated with this course but there is an on-going coursework requirement with formal deadlines which must be met.
Entry requirements
You must achieve at least five GCSEs grade A*/9 - C/4 in four different subjects, including English Language, or an equivalent Level 2 vocational qualification.
