Overview

This exciting and creative course will give you the opportunity to gain a broad range of valuable skills and knowledge in the creative digital and media sector. It is a practical, hands-on course enabling you to work both independently and in teams reflecting industry practices. In year 1, you will be taught how to conduct a digital photoshoot, record a podcast, create a film and promotional video, learn about graphic design for print and web, 3D modelling and contemporary social media marketing. There will also be fantastic opportunities to work on live projects developed by local creative media companies. This will give you an opportunity to experince working in the media sector and to gain a valuable understanding of the professional skills needed for this fast-moving and dynamic industry. In Year 2, you will be given the opportunity to explore a specialist area of creative digital media of your own choice.

Entry requirements

To start at this level, you need at least 4 GCSEs including English or a Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media or related subject.

A portfolio review with the course leader will be required.

Your portfolio of work must show your interest and enthusiasm for the subject area. We are also interested in looking at work you have completed in your own time, your hobbies and any work experience you have completed.
