Whether you are interested in becoming a photographer, filmmaker, digital designer or digital content creator, this could be your first step towards becoming a creative digital producer.

With projects across photography, moving image, advertising design and animation, you will discover your strengths and define your future path. Industry-based projects and work experience opportunities are part of each course curriculum, enabling you to further develop the skills to progress to a career in the future-focused digital industries with the energy and confidence to thrive.


Course content

You will develop skills in areas including photography, moving image, advertising design and animation.

The course is taught by a team skilled in communication, advertising design, animation, illustration, photography and filmmaking.

Course topics include:

  • Design and research techniques and skills
  • Idea development
  • Adobe Suite software
  • Audio and visual production and technology
  • Interactive media production and technology
  • Visual storytelling and camera techniques
  • Studio lighting
  • Collaborative working
  • Developing a creative media production project

Entry requirements

Start at Level 3 if you have at least 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English and maths or the Level 2 qualification.

A portfolio review is required.

Start at Level 2 if you have at least 3 GCSEs at grade 3 (D/E) or above, including English or maths.

What's next?

Upon successful completion and achievement of the Diploma you can progress to the Extended Diploma.

After the Extended Diploma you can progress to a university-level course, either at the MET or at universities throughout the UK.

Our West Durrington Campus is also our University Centre, a creative arts space with students studying at degree level in art & design disciplines as well as theatre arts and music.

Degrees at Northbrook MET include fine art, graphic design, illustration and photography.
