This course develops your skills in a broad range of acting styles and techniques including physical theatre, improvisation, devising and script work. Actors work collaboratively to create and stage performances, learning through practical workshops, industry-relevant seminars and coursework. Public performances in our theatre and other spaces within and outside the College will prepare you for a successful career or for further study in higher education.
This Level 3 Diploma leads directly onto the second year, the Extended Diploma, where you will further develop your creative understanding and specialist skills, and gain the experience needed to progress to university,drama school or a theatre conservatoire.
To join this Level 3 course, you should have at least 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, preferably including English and maths, and you will be asked to perform a 1-2 minute monologue at interview.
If you do not have the above grades, you can start on one of the MET's Level 2 courses.
You can progress to university level, either at the MET or at other universities. Related degrees at the MET include Acting & Contemporary Theatre Making, Musical Theatre, Dance or Stage & Production Management.
